Mastering Broiled Salmon

April 21st, 2022

A Quick, Hands Off Way to Cook Healthy Protein

Knowing how to perfectly broil salmon is a hands off way to prepare a quick, healthy protein to star in your seafood meals, any time of the week. It’s a fast way to cook a bare, basic fillet, but it’s an especially good cooking method for salmon that’s been spiced or marinated with ingredients that transform under high heat, like sugars or dry rubs.

Simple Tips for Perfectly Broiled Salmon

  • Pat the salmon fillet dry to remove excess moisture.

  • Sufficiently preheat your broiler to ensure a quick, intense blast of heat.

  • Broil the fillet skin side down to avoid burning.

How to Broil Salmon

Gather your materials and ingredients: Your fillet(s), tea towel or paper towels, high-heat cooking oil, salt and pepper, oven-safe pan or dish

Broil until fillet is browned on top and flakes easily with a fork, or internal temperature of fillet reaches 120F at its thickest part for medium doneness, about 4 to 6 minutes depending on thickness of fillet. Allow to cook for an extra minute or so if needed.
