Everything You Need to Know About Sockeye Salmon Strips

August 17th, 2022

Ready to Cook, Right Out of the Pack

Sockeye Salmon Strips from Wild Alaskan Company are a versatile, convenient protein to have stashed in your freezer. These skin-on, thinly-sliced pieces of Sockeye Salmon Strips are ready to cook right out of the pack. A 6 oz. pack of Sockeye Salmon Strips is perfectly prepped to use in stir-fries, skillets, and tacos. They’re also delicious when battered or breaded and fried (or air-fried!) into crispy bites of fish.

Sockeye salmon is sustainably harvested from fisheries across the southern reaches of Alaska, from Bristol Bay down to Southeast Alaska. Compared to other species of wild salmon, sockeye has the most robust flavor profile. With their bold flavor, Sockeye Salmon Strips can add punch to any of your favorite dishes.

Sockeye Salmon Strips Nutrition

Our Sockeye Salmon Strips come in 6-ounce packs, containing enough strips for two 3 oz. servings of fish.

Sockeye Salmon Strips have a nutritional profile similar to our fillet portions of sockeye. A 3 oz. serving of Sockeye Salmon Strips contains 110 calories and 5 grams of fat, as well as 17 grams of protein. This species is also rich in vitamin D — 3 oz. of Sockeye Salmon Strips has over half of the average person’s RDI of vitamin D.

How to Cook with Sockeye Salmon Strips

Because they’re thinly sliced, Sockeye Salmon Strips cook very quickly. You’ll know that Sockeye Salmon Strips are ready to eat when they are opaque on both sides.

Sauteed alone in a hot pan, they only require about 30 seconds to cook through; when mixed in with other ingredients, they may need about a minute or so of total cook time.

Sockeye Salmon Strips cook quickly when stirred into a pot of soup or curry, too. Add them in at the end, just before serving.

In an air fryer, Sockeye Salmon Strips can be cooked in under 5 minutes at the highest setting.
